"I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command. Half of the things you do you might just as well turn over to me and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed – you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done and after a few lessons, I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great individuals and, alas, of all failures, as well. Those who are great, I have made great. Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a human. You may run me for profit or run me for ruin – it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet. Be easy with me and I will destroy you."

Who am I?
I am Habit

I LOVE THIS!!!!

  1. Yes Matthew,
    The brain is surprising !
NASA has made a test on a group of astronaut .
They gave them a special pair of glasses , which reversed the vision and they had to wear day and night , even during difficult operations .
Imagine seeing everything upside down ...
Imagine eating, walking , using any accessories ...
For you , imagine the toilet ... (LOL)
The astronaut wears his pair of glasses every day without interruptions. He then something amazing happened ... after the 21st day ... The brain readjusted vision, and the astronaut saw normally again.
Amazing power of the brain is not it ?

    Bises françaises

  2. YES! It's awesome! I liked it because it's true but it's a bit worrying as well.
While I was reading it I was thinking about our subconsciousness where actually habits are "grown".
We've been trapped in our habits for years. We've been told, taught and shown how to get into the trap since we were infants. I guess that's what life is. Or is it??? I've been trying to get out...
Thank you once again, Matthew! I appreciate the way your posts stir my mind, in a very good way:)
