What do you practice?

"Law of attraction is bringing you more of how you are feeling"  ~ Abraham Hicks

How am I feeling?  I sure do feel great sometimes, and other times,.. not so much.  If I am not feeling inspired, motivated, or even grouchy and fed-up, then I know it's time to unplug.  I know that it's time for attitude adjustment.

How much can we control our emotions?  It is my belief that we can control them 100% and it is our choice to feel the way we want to feel.  We must be mindful of our thoughts though.  Thoughts, lead emotions, and our emotions lead our actions.

To me,... rebooting my attitude is a matter of stepping back from the noise, and restarting with thinking of that for which I am grateful.  The basics.  What brings my mind joy and makes me smile inside and out?  If one counts how blessed they truly are, it doesn't take long to feel good, to feel loved, and to be in a better space.

"The seeds of sorrow cannot take root in a grateful heart."  I know I've quoted that a couple of times in this blog, yet how true it is.

A friend of mine shared this video with me, and I think it's fitting for this blog entry

"...Men are, that they might have joy"

What do you practice?  Our attitude is always our choice.  Practice JOY :)

  1. It's late here in France and I have the pleasure of discovering your post Matthew.
Thank you for sharing such beautiful thoughts !

There would be a lot to say on the subject, because I think that everyone can see your reflection from a certain angle, personal, according to his education, his values.
Education often teaches us reflection, moral standards, but each individual is influenced by his own emotional charge, which makes him a more or less sensitive being.
This sensitivity is sometimes cumbersome to manage, and the conditions around us reinforce the affects imposed on us, difficult to anticipate.

But I believe that we must still try to overcome the limited view we have of certain situations, and get to do it is so fabulous !
I remember the example of a woman of the same faith as I, who hails from Haiti, lost part of her family and all her belongings during a hurricane.
Shortly after the disaster, she was photographed by a journalist as she stood in front of her crumbling house, her Bible in her hand, trying to comfort a man who was distraught by the loss of his material possessions. She testified on the pity she felt for him and declared "the poor man, he had lost all hope ! I had to try to comfort him ! ". She had not lost hope, the hope, thanks to her faith, to see her dear departed again, the hope that God could repair what the unforeseen event (Ecclesiastes 9:11 "Time and unforeseen event happen to them all. ") had taken him away. This friend's faith has changed her outlook, changed her priorities, and strengthened her hope ! His daily gratitude for all that God gives him every day is his strength.

I am committed to imitating his faith ! Surrounding myself with positive people, imitating them and finding derivatives of my thoughts when they darken is for me essential!
Who never encounters problems? According to the Bible, there is "a time for everything ... a time to cry and a time to laugh" (Ecclesiastes 3: 4).
The book "The Power of Resilience" (R. Brooks and S. Goldstein, M. Constant, Quebec, Editions de l'Homme, 2006, 260) explains that resilience "helps us understand that mistakes and failures happen in everyone's life. What matters is how we react to it. "

There are lots of things that can help us overcome moments of desperation, and everyone can find a way to motivate themselves.
I remember that at the University we decided together with classmates to create our motivational mood board above our desk to be positive (ah ah! LOL!). In hindsight, I think it was not a bad idea .. I posted images of heavenly places that made me want to succeed in life, motivational quotes like "the mistakes are proof that you're trying "," do more of what make you HAPPY! "," My daily goal: be the BEST than I can do "," So BLESSED every day! »... etc.

What do you think of my past and present thoughts Matthew?
Will you answer me Matthew? I want to dare to hope, again ...

Thank you very much for your post.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU & ALL THOSE YOU LOVE !

  2. you reminded me two quotes from Joseph Murphy's book "The power of the subconscious mind"

"Busy your mind with the concepts of harmony, health, peace, and good will, and wonders will happen in your life.”
    and
Think good, and good follows. Think evil, and evil follows. You are what you think all day long.”

    it's worth read this book☺

    ...:)
